Wonderful imaginative story for youngsters By MommaJ I was feeling a little inundated by all the technology flooding our household, and decided to take a step back with George MacDonald. Only one mind you, I did buy it on my Kindle! Anyway, I had to explain the no pictures problem to my children, but they picked up on it quickly. He is such a descriptive writer, and the story is very relatable and can be a very good learning tool if you have anyone who is acting up. Definite recommendation, as well as his The Princess and the Goblin and The Princess and Curdie!

Two little girls: One a princess, the other a shepherd's daughter; both with parents too "kindhearted" to properly discipline them. Can the Wise Woman help them?
