By Don Kidwell Thought I'd browse Amazon (once again) and see what illustrated classics could be had for a song and pass it on. Best of three illustrated versions I own including "A Tale of Two Cities (Illustrated) (Top Five Classics Book 7) " and "A Tale of Two Cities and Great Expectations (Illustrated)." Book is well-formatted with an active table of contents and fine illustrations making it an easy one to recommend.

Describes a period of European History, specially England and France, with intelligent sense of humour and deep understanding.The plot is secondary, but even interesting. There is a chapter: "Monseigneur on town", that is a maasterpiece in itself. It's a book to be read many times, and always shows new aspects. May be tha's is the definition of a classic.
