It has some great information including:Popular wood species, their properties, workability, movement, weight, etc.Woodworking adhesive chart. What are the bonding times, minimum application temprature, water resistance, sandability of all kinds of glues.Drilling chart -- different speeds for different species of wood. But it also has stuff which really isn't "quick reference" material. For example, they have a section on hand tools and a section on power tools explaining what they are (I have never wondered what a tape measure was for). They have a chapter on different joints but this is not something you keep going back to. For the most part, these chapters are more an intro to woodworking, not a reference.I am glad I purchased this and will use it, but I would much prefere they did away with the basic "intro to woodworking" chapters and:1) Expanded the section on wood species to include about 20 more.2) Expand the Finishing chapter to add pictures with before and after with some of the finishes.3) Router section. Explination of different bits, speed charts, etc.4) quick list of common mistakes and how to fix them. For example, if you get end-grain tear out from a router, what are the things you can do to fix it?If they did this, I would give it five stars.

Pocket reference comes up short By James Duermeier I must say that there is some information in the reference that is pertainent to my needs. that is not to say that it does not suite someone else much more. For the most part, it was not really what I was looking for. The cost was right, the delivery swift, I have to credit the seller for that.
