By connor p Everything Is Perfect Forever is a collection of weird, funny, deeply unsettling (and occasionally strangely touching) stories that kept me entertained on shuttles and lounges and planes on an otherwise pretty glum travel day.Sharp has a grifter's knack for sketching situations that seem mundane and plausible until all hell breaks loose. He has the gift of seduction on short notice, creating characters you find yourself loving or hating (or feeling several ways about at once) with just a few details or disclosures. He has a salesman's ability to keep things low key and friendly until you suddenly realize you've just bought a tuxedo when all you really did was come into the store to take a piss--but you'e actually pretty happy about it because all at once you feel like the kinda guy who might *need* a tuxedo sometime.The two strongest stories are Higher Powers, which is a rehab culture Lovecraft mythos story, and Privilege. Privilege is my particular favorite--it's a story about how quickly a white collar jabroni's life can slide into an impossibly macabre, Kafkaesque nightmare.EPF is scary, funny, and a genuine pleasure to read.

Especially in the dead of night... entrancing writing technique will have you on your toes and pressed for a need of "...more, more, more[!]" No qualms with rereading as well, so worth reading to friends or family on late night camping trips in the dead of night. Awesome stuff.
