The designs were well thought out and explained so anyone could do them. I plan to substitute using what I have on hand. I will look for more of her books.
2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. An Unfinished Feel and No Photos By Ann de Vries "Easy Christmas Floral Decorations" has an unfinished feel to it. The author gives detailed written instructions for the wreaths and decorations, but I did not find all of them easy to follow. The illustrations are hand-drawn and do not do justice to the author's intent. Perhaps the author could get away with drawings of some of the steps in creating her work, but even there I think coloured photos would have worked better. The finished works definitely would have been better illustrated in colour photos. Also, the author lists a number of plants and flowers to use in the pieces, but there are no photos for readers, like me, who are not familiar with all of them. I wanted to see what the plants and flowers looked like, to give me an idea of what the finished pieces would look like. I know I could look these plants up online, but the purpose of buying a "How-To" book is to have everything laid out.I got the book for free, but I did not find it useful for my purposes. I don't think the book is ready to be sold for money at this time. It has potential, but without photos, I don't think most readers would find it helpful. I hate giving a negative review because I think the author did put a lot of effort into this book, but the execution just does not work at this time.
