Lincoln novel -- the plot doesn't really matter too much, although a couple of twists are surprising (and amusing). The real fun in these stories is meeting these low-pitch down-east characters on their home ground.Incidentally, if I had to choose a favorite among Lincoln's books, I think it would be the Rise of Roscoe Paine.

It seemed to have a few more plot twists than some of his other books, and it resolved them all before it was done. All I can add -without giving away any of the plot details- is that this might be best read during the month of December.
