Good texts, less images By Larissa Like the previous comments, the texts are useful, but i was looking for a book to fast reference to drawing, to answer some question when i work, and the book has few pictures, images or drawings. I was hopping a little more!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Nice antique By Moon Cat Written in 1852 with 23 drawings, this is primarily a verbal description of the bones and muscles. Within its scope it does fine, although as I am more visually oriented, verbal doesn't quite do it for me. Most interesting but frustrating were the constant referrals to ancient famous statues of which there were no photos or drawings. Yet it was amusing, especially after describing male anatomy like the pectoral muscle and then demurely stating, the difference between that and female anatomy is obvious, of course! Comments on how changing position emphasizes different muscles and dips. Worthwhile, but I am sure it has been surpassed by more modern editions since the civil war.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Where are the pictures By David Its has plenty of content and a lot of words. The author probably know what hes talking about but there are very little picture in the book and that is no good if you are an artist.
